The Value Addition Cell & Department of Computer Science & Engineering at SRMS College of Engineering & Technology (CET) & SRMS College of Engineering, Technology & Research (CETR), Bareilly organized a Computer Proficiency Quiz for first- & second-year B Tech students to commemorate National Youth Day. Held under the aegis of IIC, the quiz evaluated student’s knowledge of computer fundamentals, coding skills & programming concepts; and encouraged their analytical thinking, problem-solving skills & technical expertise.
The quiz, conducted in two rounds — Preliminary & Main (final), tested student’s proficiency, where, Preliminary round saw participation of over 30 teams, with top 10 teams being shortlisted for final round that was further divided into three sub-rounds. However, each team was asked five questions on general computer & programming concepts in round-1;pen & paper round (round-2) having teams solving programming questions based on C, C++ & Python; while round-3, the buzzer round, witnessed teams identifying the images displayed on screen.
Towards the end, winners were announced, wherein, Mohd Kashif & Yashraj Sharma (CETR), Aditya Pathak & Raghav Sahni (CET), and Neetu Sahu & Dev Saxena (CET) from first-year clinched first, second & third prize each; while Nandini Agarwal & Lakshya Loungani (CET), Ankita Singh & Ayush Gupta (CET), Harshit Singh Katiyar and Priyanshu (CET) from second-year bagged first, second & third prize respectively.
Dr Prabhakar Gupta, Principal, SRMS CET; Dr Shailendra Deva , Vice-Principal, CET; Dr LS Maurya , Head, CSE department; Dr Ritu Singh , Head, Basic Science department; Ashish Agarwal , Faculty Coordinator, IT department and other faculties were also present.
