SRMS CET, Bareilly and SRMS CETR, Bareilly hosted the annual cultural fest, Ashwamedha with aplomb on 18th and 19th of February. The highly anticipated two day cultural and sports extravaganza brought together over 950 students from some of the top colleges in the country. Together they participated in a series of events, battling for the top honors for their respective institutes while making memories that will last them forever.
Besides the host institutes, Moradabad Institute of Engineering & Tech, Vishveshwarya Institute Of Engineering & Tech, G.L. BAJAJ Institute Greater Noida, Invertis University, Khandelwal College of Management & Technology Bareilly and Noida Institute of Technology were some of the colleges that participated. The high voltage event was sponsored by big names like Style Inn, Saree Museum, Bilal, John Players, Ashoka foam, 92.7 Big FM, Shree, Raymonds and many more.
Ashwamedha is divided into two segments – Zest 2k17, the Cultural segment and AAMOD 2k17, the Sports fest. Both the events were inaugurated in great style as the organizers had put their best step forward to make them a huge success. For Tyro and Verve clubs that organize the event, it was a moment to celebrate the talent from colleges and harness the connection between education and extracurricular activities. Their beliefs reflected in every event at the festival.
Shri Dev Murti, Chairman SRMS Trust inaugurated Zest 2k17 in a glittering ceremony where students of SRMS CET,Bareilly upped the tempo with their dance show. SRMS CET, Bareilly students presented a skit that depicted the mythological Ashwamedha. “Whatever you do, do your best, plan the tasks at hand, and have a proper time schedule,” the Chairman said on the occasion. Lighting of the torch, sports drill and releasing of doves marked the opening of AAMOD 2k17.
Over the course of two days students from various colleges participated in different activities including dance, singing, drama, Renaissance and sports like basketball, volleyball, football, kho-kho, badminton, etc. The organizers had lined up several innovative activities like T-shirt painting, LAN games, origami, which attracted attention. Girls and boys from different institutes displayed their sporting prowess and were cheered on by their contemporaries.
There was a lot to cheer about for the host teams as SRMS CETR, Barielly won the coveted Aamod 2k17 Trophy. The Band and DJ party ended the revelries on each night on a high note as students let their hair down and bonded with each other. Their camaraderie was reflected during the prize distribution ceremony where all the winners were applauded warmly by the audience. The sense of togetherness and bonhomie meant it was mission accomplished for Ashwamedha 2K17.
