We reached AIR at 10:00 hours and the session started with clearing the mission of AIR- Bahujan Hitaya Bahujan Sukhaya which means to provide information, education and entertainment, for promoting the welfare and happiness of the masses. Afterwards, we were introduced to various services provided by AIR like VIVIDH BHARTI, regional services which work on KHz frequency from different stations located in different cities regionally. The Chief engineer at AIR also discussed the concept of using different frequency bands for external services provided over 108 countries in 27 different languages. The students also came to know the concept of INSAT as AIR is offering DTH service on 21channels via insat. Finally, after a long wait, we visited the site where a huge antenna was established in order to create a communication using the satellite link.
It was a very knowledgeable visit from the students’ point of view.
