AN INDUSTRIAL VISIT REPORT ON BSNL, LUCKNOW

The session started with how BSNL contributed to develop telecom sector in India and with its future roadmap for providing customers with access to the latest telecommunication services without much efforts. The chief engineer at BSNL told us why leased lines were eliminated from the scene and also he discussed the functioning of main distribution frames and electronic exchange situated there. Later on, we were introduced with the concept of corporate network and its importance in the organizations. He also discussed the various services provided by BSNL to the customers. Afterwards, the concept of GSM was discussed with the students and why BSNL serves as a GSM was also told. The students were made familiar with power plant station to control the exchange where -48V supply was given to the switches and 48V supply was given to the other connections. Due to the shortage of time, we needed to conclude the session and returned back to the college premises within working hours.
