The engineering curriculum is incomplete without industrial exposure. With an aim of familiarizing students to practical working environment an industrial visit was organized to ALTTC Ghaziabad on 26th October 2015 for ECE students of pre-final year and final year. The students were accompanied by two faculties of ECE Dept. Mr. Devendra Kumar & Ms. Shiva Jaiswal.
During the visit the students visited different labs namely Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) lab, Optical Fiber lab, Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) lab & Broadband lab.
In SDH Lab students were given the idea about how different cities of our country are connected together via wired network using ring topology.
In DWDM Lab different techniques for multiplexing and demultiplexing of various wavelength signals at transmitter and receiver end were explained.
In Optical Fiber Lab students were familiarize with different types of optical fibers, their manufacturing procedure and how to detect fault in optical fiber network.
Finally in broadband lab they learnt about data communication using router and various cables required for configuring it. The encoding and decoding of voice and data through Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM) was also explained.
