Lucknow, Bareilly | 10 March 2017
SRMS Trust run institutions believe strongly in the ethos that all-round development is essential towards maximising a student’s education. Apart from the regular extra-curricular events held on campus, students have other larger platforms to showcase their skills as well.
The two events held over the course of February and March 2017 were Ashwamedha 2k17- The Cultural & Sports Fest organised by SRMS CET, Bareilly and SRMS CETR, Bareilly, and Blaze 2017 organised by SRMS CET, Lucknow and SRMS IBS, Lucknow.
Ashwamedha was held on 18th and 19th of February. The highly anticipated two day cultural and sports extravaganza brought together over 950 students from some of the top colleges in the country. Together they participated in a series of events, battling for the top honours for their respective institutes while making memories that will last them forever.
Ashwamedha was divided into two segments – Zest 2k17, the Cultural segment and AAMOD 2k17, the Sports fest. Both the events were inaugurated in great style as the organizers had put their best step forward to make them a huge success. For Tyro and Verve clubs that organize the event, it was a moment to celebrate the talent from colleges and harness the connection between education and extracurricular activities. Their beliefs reflected in every event at the festival.
Over the course of two days students from various colleges participated in different activities including dance, singing, drama, Renaissance and sports like basketball, volleyball, football, kho-kho, badminton, etc. The organizers had lined up several innovative activities like T-shirt painting, LAN games, origami, which attracted attention. Girls and boys from different institutes displayed their sporting prowess and were cheered on by their contemporaries. There was a lot to cheer about for the host teams as SRMS CETR, Barielly won the coveted Aamod 2k17 Trophy.
Blaze was held on 4th of March with an objective to provide a common platform for students in Lucknow and other cities to simultaneously foster and encourage unity, talent, competitiveness and togetherness. Students from all colleges of Lucknow as well as other cities were invited to this mega event.
Over 200 students from many reputable institutions from the region participated with enthusiasm in the myriad events.
