The two-day 40th Annual Conference of Association of Physicians of India (API UP Chapter) ‘UPAPICON-2023 (October 28-29, 2023), based on theme ‘Pearls of Medicine’, organized by Department of General Medicine at Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences (SRMS IMS), Bareilly, concluded with a brilliant exchange of medical knowledge & commitment to healthcare excellence.
The second & last day saw the presence of Dr MP Rawal, Organizing Chairperson UPAPI; Dr Smita Gupta, Organizing Secretary, UPAPI; Dr SC Chaudhary, Secretary UPAPI; Dr KK Sawlani, Chairman UPAPI; Dr Richa Giri, Vice Chairman UPAPI; Dr Atul Mehrotra, Treasurer, UPAPI; Dr SK Gautam, Joint Secretary, UPAPI; Dr Neeraj Kapoor, Co-organizing Secretary, UPAPI; Dr Vaibhav Shukla, Executive Committee Member, UPAPI & several others.
The Day-2 began with Scientific Sessions & Symposiums on Endocrinology, Diabetes, Neurology, Nephrology & Infectious Diseases, delivered by Dr NK Soni —Yathartha Hospital, Noida; Dr LH Ghotekar — LHMC, New Delhi; Dr Pradeep Kr Maurya— RML, Lucknow; Dr Ruchika Tandon & Dr Dharmendra Bhaduria—SGPGI, Lucknow; Dr Amit Gupta—Apollo, Lucknow; Dr Shyam Sundar & Dr KK Gupta — BHU Varanasi. Scientific sessions on Thyroid Report Interpretation: Common Clinical Scenarios, Prevention of Diabetic Kidney Disease, Blood Component Therapy in Dengue fever etc proved to be informative. Later, MP Mehrotra Oration on ‘My Experience with Fungal Infections’ was delivered by Dr Jaya Chakravarty, BHU, Varanasi. Several workshops on Diabetes & Technology, Spirometry Interpretation along with guest lecture on Current status of diagnosis & treatment of tuberculosis added significant touch to the conference. Dr GP Elhence Quiz was held for all delegates along with poster presentation. The conference ended with valedictory function, wherein awards & certificates were distributed.
