The Department of Pediatrics at SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) Bareilly observed and celebrated WORLD IMMUNIZATION WEEK from APRIL 24-30, 2023 with galore of immunization related activities at SRMSIMS and outreach areas to promote immunization & spread awareness on importance and crucial role of vaccinations in preventing deadly diseases.
Based on WHO’s theme 2023 ‘The Big Catch-Up’, the week-long observance that saw a huge footfall of people at SRMS IMS, witnessed a Role-Play event that was a special portrayal of Autobiography of different Vaccines by first-year pediatrics residents; Flash Mob followed by vaccination awareness on blockbuster song ‘naatu-naatu’; Musical performance to promote immunization; Outreach awareness talk having impressive speeches by Dr Tanveer & Dr Himanshu Baranwal at UHTC & RHTC; Thematic poster-making competition based on WHO theme having participation of nursing students; immunization-based Quiz Competition for MBBS students etc.
The event that was a great reminder for everyone that vaccines are safe, effective and essential for our immune system, was a resounding success wherein people availed government vaccines free of cost.
