The Department of Nephrology—a unit of Department of Medicine at SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (SRMS IMS), Bareilly hosted a first-ever ‘NEPHROCON’—a Nephrology CME on the theme ‘Renal Diseases and Electrolytes’ on March 11-12, 2023.
Around 17 delegates and faculties from AIIMS, New Delhi; RML New Delhi; KGMU, Lucknow; Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi; Max Hospital, Vaishali; Artemis Hospital, Gurugram; SGRH, New Delhi; Opal Hospital, Varanasi; Holy Family Hospital, New Delhi; Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi; TMU, Moradabad; Medanta Hospital, Lucknow; Charak Hospital, Lucknow; Dharamshila Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi and others participated actively in the conference and shared valuable and informative talks on various topics.
It was a meaningful and interactive session that brought together leading nephrology experts, who shared their insights and contributed to a better understanding of current trends in diagnosis and treatment of various renal diseases and electrolytes abnormalities, which certainly was a rewarding opportunity to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of Nephrology. More than 350 delegates registered for ‘Nephrocon’. During the two-day event, oral paper and poster presentation was done by post graduate students of different medical colleges. Some of the topics of discussion included Metabolic Acidosis- Understanding the concept; Hypertension in Pregnancy-When and How to treat; Hypercalcemia- Review the concept; Management of Diabetes in Patient with Kidney disease; Cardio Renal Syndrome-Heart Kidney Cross Talk; Management of Septic Shock with AKI; Pulmonary Renal Syndrome and so on.
It was indeed the biggest Nephrology event of the year, which was well conducted by the organizing team comprising of Dr Sanjay Kumar, Organizing Chairperson; Dr Smita Gupta, Organizing Chairperson and Dr Vidyananad, Organizing Secretary.
