To commemorate the arrival of spring season & honor Goddess Saraswati, Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences (SRMS IMS), Bareilly celebrated ‘Basant Panchami’ with great devotion. In addition to traditional observances, the institute organized various engaging competitions for the students, aiming to make this auspicious day more memorable.
The ceremony began with Saraswati Puja, where all rituals were conducted in the presence of Dr RP Singh, Medical Superintendent; Dr Neelima Mehrotra, Dean UG along with heads of departments, faculty members & students. Saraswati Vandana and soulful bhajans filled the atmosphere with serenity. This was followed by distribution of Prasad.
The auspicious day witnessed exciting competitions of Rangoli Making, Kite Decoration & customary tradition of Kite Flyingthat engaged MBBS students of Batch 2022 & 2023 to the fullest, and it was a treat to watch them participating enthusiastically. Later, the competition winners were announced, wherein MBBS students from Batch 2023 namely Bhoomika & Sakshi Nigamclinched first prize in Kite Making & Decoration while Priyanka & Shreya Varshney received first prize in Rangoli Making. The competition was adjudged byDr Nidhi Johri, Associate Professor, Pathology Department; Dr Abhinav Pandey, Associate Professor, Department of Community Medicine &Dr Samta Tiwari, Assistant Professor, Department of Anatomy. Towards the end, Basant Panchami celebrations culminated with everyone converging at the mela ground, where the sky became a canvas of colorful kites soaring as high as the collective festival spirit.
