SHRI RAM MURTI SMARAK INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES’S FIRST CME ON ‘ROLE OF POCUS IN TRAUMA & EMERGENCY CARE’ SETS THE BAR HIGH!

The Department of Emergency Medicine & Trauma at Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences (SRMS IMS), Bareilly recently organized its first CME on ‘Role of Pocus in Trauma and Emergency Care’ featuring a comprehensive blend of lectures from leading faculties of premier institutes, workshops, panel discussions & postgraduate quiz.

The knowledge-drive CME was inaugurated by Chief Patron Shri Dev Murti, Chairman SRMS Trust & Chief Guest Professor Dr Amit Gupta, Division of Trauma Surgery, AIIMS, New Delhi in the presence of Patron Aditya Murti, Trust Secretary; Dr Harshit Agarwal, Emergency & Trauma Surgeon, SRMSIMS;Air Marshal Dr MS Butola, Principal; Dr RP Singh, Medical Superintendent; Professor Dr Piyush Kumar Agarwal, Director, RR Cancer Institute, SRMSIMS & many others.

During his address, Shri Dev Murti expressed concern over rising trauma & emergency cases & underlined the collective responsibility of every citizen to save lives during emergency.
The event kicked-off with an enriching lecture on ABCD by USG in Trauma resuscitation & basics of USG, delivered by Dr Vaibhav Jaiswal, KGMU, Lucknow & Dr OP Sanjeev, SGPGI, Lucknow respectively. An interactive session on POCUS in Lung Pathology & introduction of SACTEM was given by Dr Pranabh Kushwaha, AIIMS, Raebareli & Dr Lokendra Gupta (Medanta, Lucknow) respectively. Meanwhile, Col. Dr Anand Kumar Katiyar, Command Hospital, Lucknow spoke on POCUS in Shock, whereas Dr Madhur Uniyal, AIIMS, Rishikesh & Dr Amit Gupta discussed on developing trauma system & trauma scenario in India.

A Panel Discussion on ‘Trauma Quality Indicators and ways to prevent Preventable Deaths’ along with workshops on Lung USG, E-FAST & RUSH protocol also took place, followed by an engaging quiz for Postgraduates.
