Referring to it, Dr Ashish says, “This 5-year-old boy was presented to the ENT OPD at SRMS Hospital with excessive watering from right eye, and was diagnosed with Right Chronic Dacryocystitis. He was endoscopically operated with Right Dacryocystorhinostomy on July 5, 2023 and was discharged on July 7, 2023 with stable vitals. Usually, this surgery is avoided under the age of 10 years due to small nasal cavity with a difficulty to approach the landmarks of surgical field, lack of pediatric endoscopes & instruments, and fear of complications, but we successfully performed it here without any complications. The procedure involved intricate techniques to open & unblock the obstructed tear duct, restoring proper drainage & alleviating the patient's discomfort. Besides, we also operate the cases of skull base tumors along with our team of Neurosurgeons. However, I am really thankful to the management at SRMS Hospital, who provide us the best infrastructure to perform such difficult cases with ease.”
