The Department of Information Technology at Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering & Technology, Bareilly formed in 1999 and offers B. Tech. program. The program is regularly updated to cope with the ever-changing technology and demands of the industry.

Our goal is to provide the requisite platform to budding engineers and technocrats to sharpen their reasoning, analytical and communication skills along with requisite technical knowledge so that they can meet with confidence the future challenges of growing technology.

The four year program leading to a B. Tech degree builds strong foundations in all traditional areas of Information Technology and Engineering. At present intake for B. Tech. students in the department is 60.

The state of art curriculum promotes independent thinking and learning at an individual’s pace. The department strives to provide state of art infrastructure and facilities to our undergraduate students where they bring their project and research ideas to fruition. The department has taken up the challenge to attract world class faculty in all areas of Information Technology.

All students of Information Technology Department find excellent placements in research-oriented industries and top ranking global companies. Information Technology alumni are at the forefront in Information Technology and related fields within India and internationally.

  • Programme Outcomes (POs)

    PO1 Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics and science, with fundamentals of Information Technology to be able to solve complex engineering problems related to Information Technology.
    PO2 Problem Analysis: Identify, Formulate, review research literature and analyze complex engineering problems related to IT and reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
    PO3 Design/Development of solutions: : Design solutions for complex engineering problems related to IT and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety and the cultural societal and environmental considerations.
    PO4 Conduct Investigations of Complex problems: Use research–based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
    PO5 Modern Tool Usage: Create, Select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to computer science related complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

    PO6 The Engineer and Society: Apply Reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the IT professional engineering practice.

    PSO1 Foundation of Mathematical Concepts:

    To use mathematical methodologies to crack problem using suitable mathematical analysis, data structure and suitable algorithm

    PSO2 Foundation of Computer System:

    The ability to interpret the fundamental concepts and methodology of computer systems. Students can understand the functionality of hardware and software aspects of computer systems.

    PSO3 Foundations of Software development:

    the ability to grasp the software development lifecycle and methodologies of software systems. Possess competent skills and knowledge of software design process. Familiarity and practical proficiency with a broad area of programming concepts and provide new ideas and innovations towards research.
