Dr. Asha Gupta Central Library,Shri Ram Murti Smarak college of Engineering and Technology System consists of a Central Library and 08 departmental libraries, which collectively support the teaching, research and extension programmes of the Institute. All students and employees of the Institute are entitled to make use of the Library facilities on taking library membership. The Library, besides having a huge collection of books on engineering, science and humanities offers library services through its various divisions.

Library Automation:

The Library uses GURUKUL software package, which is an integrated multi-user library management system that supports all in-house operations of the Library with Barcode Technology. The GURUKUL consists of modules on acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, periodical, article indexing and OPAC. More than 46006 bibliographic records of books and other resources available in the library can be accessed through the OPAC. The database of books available in the Library is being updated on day-to-day basis with details of recently acquired books.

Aim of the Library:

A modern library is deemed as a learning resource centre. Its aim is to enable the users to make most effective utilization of the resources. It also provide better services not only to students but also college staff by acquiring materials, processing it in a best possible manner for optimum utilization.

Knowledge Resources :

Dr. Asha Gupta Central Library,Shri Ram Murti Smarak college of Engineering and Technology has a wide collection of books on science, technology, humanities, management and personality development. It has a large collection of books, journals, magazines and non-book material. It has over 46006 books in various disciplines, CD-ROMs, Seminar reports and project reports. Central Library subscribes 51 Magazines, 13 newspapers and 181 national and International journals in print form. A separate Digital Library has been set up with subscription of IEEE ASPP, ASME, J-Gate Social management Science and EBSCO membership for use to the students and faculty for online learning.

Dr. Asha Gupta Central Library has Question Paper Bank having previous years question papers of UPTU exams.

Digital Library:

Digital Library is a place where users can get all the information through a PC and Internet connection. In this Library there are five terminals for access resources / e- resources. Users can browse on the digital library systems and anywhere in the campus. A catalogue of CD’s /DVD’s and Audio Cassettes is also available for their references. Our Services

Text Book Loan Scheme:

In addition to a well-maintained library, the college has a rich Book-Bank exclusively for students. Under this novel project called Book-Bank, every student gets books for each subject issued for full semester for personal use. The books are to be returned at the end of the semester and a fresh set of books is issued at the commencement of a new semester.

OPAC

Online public access catalogue (OPAC) has been introduced for library data search by users. OPAC is a powerful search engine for finding any catalogued information from GURUKUL bibliographic database on-line.

  • Book Bank Service:
    Book Bank section has 8000 textbooks. Books are issued to the students for the full semester at a nominal cost. The economically weak students under the SC/ST category may get the books at free of cost for full semester from book bank section.
  • Reference Service:A large number of Encyclopedias, Handbooks, Dictionaries and other reference aids are available in the Library. Reference staff is also available in the reference section/reading section to suggest resources of information and to assist in locating the required resources. These books can be issued over night only in case of emergency. Reference section has at least one volume of each title present in the Library; it has a capacity of one hundred thirty eight users at as time.
  • News Paper Clippings:Through this service we provide the latest news published in various Newspapers of the College/AICTE & UPTU.

Reprographic, Lamination and Spiral Binding Service

Library has three Photostat machine. Photocopy services is available from 9:00Am to 11:00PM.Lamination and Spiral Binding facility is available in Library.

Faculty Reading Room

The Central Library provides a sufficient and separate room for reading purpose to the faculty members.

Library Membership

All the students, faculty members and employees of the Institute can register themselves for the membership of the Library. All Students, faculty and staff members are issued cards. Their entitlements, in terms of the number of books that can be borrowed by them, are as follows:
