Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering & Technology (SRMS CET), Bareilly achieves milestone in Aviation Technology with its B Tech (CS) 3rd year students—Piyush Pandey, Saba Mazhar & Raj Sinha, who pushed the boundaries &developed a groundbreaking project on ‘Development of Mission Computer for Early Warning System(EWS) in Aviation& Defense Technology’, under visionary mentorship of Dr Sovan Mohanty, DSW &Associate Professor (ECE).

In an innovative pursuit of excellence, this project has recently secured BronzeMedal with a cash prize of Rs 3000 at ‘The Pitching Pursuit’ competition held in IIT Delhi, sponsored by Boeing, FIIT& SIC-IIT Delhi. The sister project titled ‘Mission Computer’has also cleared first round in Action Plan’23‘Abhyuday’ at IIT Bombay.
Stepping further into the limelight, project has now been selected for prestigious Boeing BUILD 3.0 Bootcamp &Regional Finals, scheduled from January 9-11, 2024, followed by Regional Finals on January 12, 2024 at KIIT Technology Business Incubator, Bhubaneswar, which is great pride for SRMS Institutionsthatpromises to showcaseincredible innovation &excellence behind this project.

Emphasizing upon projects’ objective, Dr Sovan Mohanty says, “The project aimed to create an ‘Integrated Safety Monitoring System’ for Aerospace & Defense industry, focusing on early warning & control systems. It will synchronize interactions between human (pilots), machines (computer) & environment by analyzing real-time data from sensors, flight instruments & pilot input. In case of hazards, system will promptly communicatewith pilot, providing advanced warnings & guidance.”
Dr Sovan also urges to avoidpurchasing aviation devices from international markets, promoting the concept of ‘Make in India’ & to make India self-sustainable in technology.

Furnishing project details, Piyush Pandey says, “This project symbolizes advancement in aviation safety, enabling pilots to make informed decisions swiftlyduring critical situation. ‘Mission Computer’ willalso monitor evolving flight environment, ensuring coordination of Human-Machine-Environment triad.”
