SHRI RAM MURTI SMARAK ENGINEERING COLLEGE’S FACULTY EXPLORES CUTTING-EDGE TESTING PROCEDURES & LABS AT B.L. AGRO INDUSTRIES!

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC)’ of Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering & Technology (SRMS CET), Bareilly recently organized an enriching Industrial Lab Visit to B L Agro Industries Limited, Bareilly that was specifically designed for faculty members of Mechanical & Pharmacy department, focusing on the theme ‘Exploration of Research Facilities’.

During the visit, 5 faculties from CET namely Dr Arti Gupta, Director Pharmacy; Dr Ravindra Kumar, Associate Professor & Head, ME Department; Dr Manjoo Rani, Assistant Professor, Pharmacy Department; Dr Reetika Rawat, Assistant Professor, Pharmacy Department; Dr Satya Dev, Assistant Professor, ME Department, had a great opportunity to explore the industrial site. They gained valuable insights & an eye-opening experience into the methodologies & testing procedures related to food items.

During the informative visit, faculty members explored advanced technologies & equipments for research purposes, learned about innovative testing techniques, discovered novel approaches to improve the accuracy & speed of food testing & gained knowledge on evaluating effectiveness & accuracy of testing procedures used to ensure food safety & quality. Later, faculties were taken to different labs & introduced to variety of instruments like Transparency tester, Tensile tester, Drop tester, Compression tester, Bursting Strength tester, Moisture detector, Protein distillatory/Digester, Racemic (Shelf-life detector), LCMS (Fat detectors), Packaging testers, Elisa (Bacterial Detection) etc.

Overall, the visit provided a comprehensive understanding of best practices, fostering collaboration, skill development, cost-effectiveness & sustainability in the field of food testing. However, the gained insights have positioned the institution to contribute actively to advancement & innovation within the food industry. Most importantly, the collaboration with BL Agro will further enhance the research profile of SRMS Institution by extending the experimental facilities.
