Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering & Technology (SRMS CET), Bareilly recently organized an informative Industrial Visit to National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), ISRO, Hyderabad for the students of EC & EN, Batch 2020, 2021 & 2023, wherein 15 students from CET witnessed an enlightening experience.
Assistant Professor, Vikramaditya Singh from EN Department; Lab Assistant & Priyanka Saxena from EC Department at SRMS CET accompanied the team of 15 students to the industrial site. Initially, students reached NRSC Outreach facility at Jeedimetla campus, wherein they received a grand welcome from NRSC staff-members. This was followed by a fun-filled photograph session with the training team. This visit was a great opportunity for students & faculties to witness picturesque & attractive reception with life size and miniature interactive modules related to India’s space program. In an eye-opening visit, NRSC experts gave interactive presentations on India’s space program, its journey from initial satellite launch vehicles to the most recent successful Chandrayaan 3 mission. However, the objective was to brief the training team about the need & importance of remote sensing, the indigenously built hardware and core planning of dedicated team of scientists.
Later, students were taken to exhibition hall, wherein they were introduced about various activities of NRSC including its access to satellite imagery & remote data in real-time through remote sensing satellites that are operational at the moment. Students witnessed various models & interactive imageries of the satellite launch vehicles, as well as the real-time data collection center which was operational. Overall, the visit provided a wonderful industrial exposure, underscoring the critical role of space technology in addressing global challenges & contributing to sustainable development.
