The Training, Development & Placement Cell at SRMS College of Engineering and Technology (SRMS CET), Bareilly organized an alumni guest lecture on ‘Career Opportunities in Operations’ by one of our Alumnus (MBA Batch 2020) as a Special Guest & Key Note Speaker, Bhavesh Mahlan, a renowned industry expert as Operations Executive at AP Moller-Maersk, Noida, on February 20, 2023 for the first-year students of MBA. The knowledge-driven lecture was an incredible opportunity to learn from an experienced alumnus, who gave comprehensive understanding of the operations industry, including current trends, challenges, and potential career paths.

While sharing invaluable insights and experiences in the field, Bhavesh Mahlan focused on MBA in Operations Management and its scope. He highlighted upon the importance of time management even in a hectic schedule, and shared his concern on prominent dilemma that exists among management students on choosing the right stream to specialize in business education. He emphasized upon using LinkedIn as the most suitable social media platform for employment opportunities. While interacting with students, he shared his personal experiences on how to crack interviews and skills needed to enter into an organization, work schedule management and how to present a positive organizational environment. He elaborated his views on diplomacy, and how being diplomatic and carrying immense patience, helped him throughout his professional journey. He also guided students of management science to set priorities and the required criteria to be followed to select specialization and follow it with passion.
After delivering his lecture, he encouraged the budding managers to clear their doubts and queries, which was quite an interactive session.

One of the MBA aspirants, Harsh Rastogi of first year, who attended the lecture said, “It was a very informative, interactive session and a great learning experience, where we got an opportunity to know
about the career choices and scope of MBA in operations. The lecture was a thought provoking one that emphasized on the importance of a long-term goal, and we would implement his tips and advice in our future endeavours.”
