The Institution Innovation’s Council (IIC) Regional Meet 2023 for NRO Zone was recently organized by AICTE and Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) at Amity University, Noida wherein IIC-Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering & Technology (SRMS CET), Bareilly won the ‘Best IIC Creative Poster Award’—a trophy & certificate, amongst more than 300 IICs participants at IIC Poster Exhibition. These regional meets are flagship programmes’ of MIC that are designed to provide a networking platform for IIC as well its prospective institutions, to celebrate their contribution towards institutionalizing & streamlining their campus innovation ecosystems in higher education.
During the day-long meet, a Round Table Discussion, ‘INDOVATION’, a Regional IIC Consortium Meeting & Action Plan Preparation along with YUKTI Innovation Challenge took place. This was followed by Orientation Sessions on topics such as “Using PR to Build Brand Equity for Innovators”, “Idea to Product and Product to Startup”, “What makes a Startup Investable”, along with experts’ insights on one-to-one Mentoring cum Pitching Sessions. In addition to it, start-up exhibitions such as ‘KARTAVYABODH’ & ‘UDYAMI BAZAAR’ were also held, wherein students showcased their path-breaking innovations.
In this engaging event, around 800-1000 participants took part from 300 IIC Institutions namely 50 ATL Schools, 50 Non IIC Institutions, 20+ Regional Ecosystem Enablers, 100 Innovators & Startups, 50 ATL Schools, 50 Experts, Mentors & Policymakers, and 10 State & Central Govt Agencies. Notably, IIC-SRMSCET participated and emerged winners in poster exhibition, having team members—Dr Saurabh Gupta, Professor, MBA Department; Mahendra Kumar, Assistant Professor, EC Department & Raj Sinha, Student of B Tech (CS) Final year, showcasing their innovation & entrepreneurship skills.
Earlier, the prestigious meet was inaugurated by Prof. T. G. Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt of India; Dr Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University; Dipan Sahu, Assistant Innovation Director, MIC; Dr Jitender Kumar, Managing Director, BIRAC; Dr Mamta Rani, Advisor-I, AICTE & Dr (Prof) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University among many others.
