In the realm of engineering brilliance & groundbreaking innovations, Dr Ravindra Kumar, Associate Professor & Head, ME Department, SRMS CET, Bareilly, who joined the institute in 2017 as Assistant Professor, has achieved a significant milestone. With relentless dedication & expertise, his patent titled "Ghee Packaging Machine Apparatus" has been granted by the Controller General of Patents, Design and Trade Marks, Government of India in April 2023.

Dr Ravindra Kumar received his B Tech degree in 2006 from the College of Engineering Roorkee & M Tech from IIT Roorkee in 2008. His passion for knowledge & innovation propelled him to pursue his Ph.D, which he completed in 2018 in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from IIT Roorkee. Driven by a keen interest in Welding Engineering, Additive Manufacturing & Surface Engineering, Dr Ravindra has authored & co-authored numerous research articles in renowned National and International journals, along with Research publications in SCI & Scopus. With 7+ years of teaching experience in Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Processes, Welding Engineering & Mathematical Modeling of Manufacturing Processes, Dr Ravindra has guided graduate & post-graduate students in their research work.
GRANT & RECOGNITION
Dr Ravindra Kumar’s Patent has received a research grant of Rs 3 Lakhs by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow, under VRPS scheme in April 2023. This financial aid bolstered his research endeavors. Speaking about his patent, Dr Ravindra shares, “The Ghee Packaging Apparatus offers very useful, affordable & user-friendly solution for packaging of ghee, honey & various liquids.
However, this patent represents a paradigm shift in the packaging industry, as it’s cheap, easy to operate, useful for industries, where packaging work is done using costly apparatus, currently available in the market.”
