With the vision to empower our tech-savvy youth, SRMS College of Engineering & Technology (SRMS CET), Bareilly organized a Tablet Distribution Ceremony on February 8th, 2023 as part of the UP-Government’s initiative to provide tablets to meritorious students, which was a moment of joy and pride for the recipients. The UP-Government initiative is a step towards making education more accessible and digital, and aims to bridge the digital divide and ensure that all students have access to the same resources and opportunities, irrespective of their socio-economic background.

It’s essential to mention here that UP Chief Minister, Shri Yogi Adityanath had announced the distribution of smartphones and laptops to the meritorious students who are pursuing graduation, post-graduation, engineering, and other diploma courses from the State Universities with a budget of around Rs 3000 crores. Henceforth, the vision was brought into action by SRMS CET, wherein the students of MBA, MCA, MPharm and BTech of Batch 2018 were given tablets, soon after the 22nd Convocation ceremony of the college.

The ceremony began with welcoming Dr Prabhakar Gupta, Dean Academics, SRMS CET; Dr LS Maurya, Principal, SRMS CETR; Dr Arti Gupta, Director of Pharmacy and Professor Dr DN Rao, Director Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), SRMS CET. This was followed by distribution of Acer Tablets to the 261 meritorious students, who were spotted brimming with energy and enthusiasm, and felt motivated and inspired to do well as the youth of the country.

Taking it as a moment of resounding success, Geetanjali Joshi, MCA pass-out Batch 2022, says, “The tablets that we received are not just gadgets, but they are tools that can help us achieve our goals. I will use it wisely, and make the most of the resources that’s available to us. I also believe that such initiatives by the government and educational institutions are crucial for the development of the education sector and the overall progress of the country.”
